About Morning Times

Since 2006, The Morning Times has been fueling downtown Raleigh with quality, locally roasted coffee and unique menu items.

Located at 10 E Hargett St, Raleigh, NC 27601, Morning Times operates as a cafe serving Raleigh in North Carolina. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as coffee shop, restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–6 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Morning Times at (919) 836-1204; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is morningtimes-raleigh.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 1,965 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded cafes in Raleigh.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The store itself is very nice and well designed, it’s a bit small but it’s as expected for a store in Raleigh. The service was super quick and very friendly, but the food itself was… asking for more. I got a Vanilla Latte and a peanut butter cookie, the latte was somehow incredibly bland with no richness of milk, sweetness of vanilla, or bitterness of espresso, just bland. The peanut butter cookie was okay, nothing note worthy. I would suggest this place, i most likely just got an unlucky brew!

Funky and fun coffee shop in Raleigh! Very unique atmosphere. The service is friendly with a genuine smile. I got the traditional machiato. They did not burn the milk and the Espresso was pulled with perfection! Breakfast item I got was a croissant and little bit of jelly. When you enter this coffee shop, it is a tight squeeze. There are a few stools in the front. There is an upstairs with plenty of space. They brought my breakfast up. This helped a lot to avoid congestion downstairs. Little tables next to the windows with live plants. Bus lady was even friendly when she went around picking up empty cups and napkins. That was refreshing.

We got an omelet, potato pancakes, cookie, scone, and a coffee. No complaints with the food. They made a bunch of mistakes on the order which is why I put down 3 stars for service, though the staff themselves were friendly: asked for no ham in the omlete but it had ham; the omelet was served with jam which I'm guessing was supposed to be a hot sauce; did not receive the coffee or scone we ordered until we followed up for both after receiving the rest of the order.

Good place for breakfast, coffee, and lunch. The space in front of the register can be a little tight when busy but the lines moves pretty quickly. Order your food at the register. If you're eating in, they give you a table marker with an Uno Card for a server to bring you your food. We a ordered the Ruben sandwich, chips, corn beef and hash. The food was pretty good. The honey sriacha sauce that comes with the cornbeef and hash was delicious. There was plenty of seating upstairs and outside. We will return.

We came and here and they were very accommodating. We ordered a parfait for our baby and he’s under one so we asked them not to add the honey. The biscuit and omelet were fantastic and much larger than expected. The coffee and hot chocolate was the perfect temperature. I love that they steamed the milk for the hot chocolate and it wasn’t a powder mix with hot water. We can’t wait to visit again.
